Meet Michael
Founder of P1 Physiotherapy & P1 Pilates

What inspired you to create P1 Physiotherapy and later expand into Pilates and other related services?
Living in Oran Park since 2011 I saw the lack of professional and quality allied health care services for the local community. With over 10 years of experience as a Physiotherapist at the time, I created and opened P1 Physiotherapy in 2022 with the vision of a multidisciplinary one-stop allied health and wellness destination where all services are able to complement each other and culminate to best improve our patients health. Since opening we have been able to expand and provide Physiotherapy, Women's Health Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Podiatry, Massage Therapy and now Pilates. P1 is now Oran Park's only practice and studio of it's kind.
How do you see Pilates and Yoga enhancing the care you offer through physiotherapy and other allied health services?
Pilates and yoga has an important role in reinforcing, complementing and progressing the work and care we provide our patients as allied health professionals. We see a lot of patients return with new or recurrent injuries because they didn't have the right guidance and programming by there fitness outlets. At P1 our instructors work collaboratively with our allied health team to develop the best classes and programs to ensure our clients receive the most effective workouts.
Can you tell us about your professional background and what led you into this field?
Pilates and yoga has an important role in reinforcing, complementing and progressing the work and care we provide our patients as allied health professionals. What specific skills or philosophies guide the way you approach movement, rehab and wellness?
I believe their needs to be balance. This applies to movement, exercise, diet, and lifestyle. If everything is as balanced as it can be we allow our bodies to improve, recover and perform correctly. I assess and treat my patients to achieve balance in the body and prescribe exercises to maintain and improve this.
What do you find most rewarding about the work you do and the community you've built at P1?
Seeing any of our patients achieve their goal or milestone after seeing one of our team hearing the wonderful reviews of patients who have referred family and friends or recommended P1 online to the local community.
